History
Liquid Courage was founded in 2000 by Devin and Johnna. While working together in a South Omaha street shop for several years, they noticed that many of their clients were requesting totally original, hand-drawn tattoos instead of simply picking designs off the wall. When they set out to open their own studio, they made this type of tattooing a priority, and opened the first (and to this day, only) all-custom tattoo studio in Omaha. We now have nearly a dozen full time artists, three piercers, our own building, and a small army of loyal clients.

Our goal is to provide an excellent customer experience from start to finish. We pride ourselves on working with each individual client in a collaborative way. Drawing upon our years of experience in tattooing, we will listen you your ideas, and help shape them in an effort to build you the best, most durable tattoo possible. We believe that we have an artist suited to do any kind of tattoo imaginable, and we will insist on putting your vision in the proper hands. Above all, we believe that everyone walking in our doors deserves to be treated with respect, and everyone walking out deserves to have a great tattoo.

I was born and raised in Rhode Island. After leaving the ocean state, I found myself in the Midwest and began tattooing at A-1 Tattoo in Kansas City in 2004. From there I began working at The Mercy Seat in KC and doing guest spots around the country including Omaha. Making the move to Liquid Courage was an easy one. After guest spotting for years, I loved the crew, the shop and the atmosphere.

My name is chad and I have been tattooing since 2002. I started in Omaha and then went to Wyoming. About four years ago I ended up coming home and was lucky enough to land a spot here at liquid courage. I do not have a style in which I tattoo, I only care that the client is getting a great tattoo. Tattooing is an amazing art form and I think we should leave it like we found it, full of respect and glory!

I moved to Omaha Nebraska in 93 from a small town in illinois. I have a background in comic book art working on such comics as Star trek deep space 9 and the comic book adaption of the movie The crow, City of angels. I started tattooing at Liquid Courage in 2006. Working with such amazing talent has allowed me to grow even more as an artist and tattoo artist. We are as much a family as we are friends and co-workers.

After spending my early 20s selling some art freelance, a friend suggested tattooing. A short time later i realized this was the career for me. The art, the camaraderie, and honestly the clientele brings me back everyday. The variety of this industry is beyond what i could have ever imagined!

I was introduced to Liquid Courage through my old friend, Jeremy “Fierto” Cruz and fell in love with the world of tattoo art and culture. After a two year apprenticeship, I started tattooing while looking for my stylistic niche. I’ve now been a full time tattooer for over three years and I couldn’t imagine a better fit. I enjoy tattooing traditional Americana and Japanese art while giving it a twist of my own; however, I don’t stylistically limit myself in the production of a quality tattoo.

I worked at a street shop in South Omaha for about a year when Johnna and Devin informed me of their intention to open the city’s first all custom tattoo shop and invited me to work with them. We opened Liquid Courage in May of 2000, and I have worked with them there ever since. I enjoy tattooing in various styles, including Japanese and American traditional, but I try not to specialize in any one thing.

Although those boys I work with can be shit-asses, I love them like family and continue to appreciate the art of tattooing. I will carry on tattooing until my hands can no longer hold a machine.

My name is Jarad Piniarski. I began apprenticing under Lee at Liquid Courage in February of 2004. I pierced at LC until the Fall of ’09 when I moved to Houston, TX. I found in Texas, a woman who was willing to put up with me. I stole her and brought her back to Omaha in August of 2012 and quickly took up my old position at LC. I’m very happy to be back around both those who are genetically tied to me, and my family at LC.

A Custom tattoo shop is/was a new concept in our area when we began. The principle is simple. We at Liquid Courage started getting tattooed years ago to do something original and to display our individual interests and personalities. That is the concept with which we built Omaha’s first TOTALLY custom tattoo shop. We strive to give everyone a tattoo that is original and well-done on every level. One of the best things about a truly custom shop is- you can bring to the table as much or as little as you’d like.If you bring in your ideas or designs we can make it into a tattoo that will truly be yours. These ideas all require a bit more work on our part and yours as well. Being strictly custom means we hand draw ALL of your designs individually and therefore requires an appointment. So please stop into our shop and speak with any of our capable artists, ALL are willing to help.
A: At Liquid Courage the short answer is, yes. Being an ALL custom shop means that we need to spend more time working on your individual tattoo design. This requires more commitment from our artists as well as from our customers! We would like to spend time talking to you about your design before we even set up your tattoo session. There almost always will be a drawing appointment for you to see a sketch before you even get tattooed. ****** for those of you who are a bit more impulsive, or would like to get tattooed today, we have created the shop for you! Sailor’s Grave Tattoo in Old Town Benson. Owned and operated solely by Liquid Courage tattoo artists who rotate in & out of this location on 2 week intervals.

A: Sorry, we do not. again, as is the theme throughout these questions, we require a little bit more commitment from both our customers and our artists. The only truly great way to give a honest price quote and time quote is in person. So many factors go into determining the cost of your tattoo that we want to meet with you individually and make sure we have the specifics clear. ( if you are from out of town, email one of us and we will work out arrangement ). It is also important to note that we do require a cash deposit for each appointment. Sorry, no cards.
A: Many hours of thought and work go into each Liquid Courage tattoo design. Most deposits are only 60$. And payable in cash only. Sorry, no cards. This deposit comes off the final cost of your tattoo. The only way you lose your deposit is a “no call, no show”. In the case of a “no call, no show” the artists recoup the deposit as partial payment for their time spent. **** 24 hours notice for any cancellations is considered a true courtesy to our staff. We have many clients would love to fill your session but they do need some notice as well.
A: We understand that life happens. You can cancel at anytime prior to your tattoo appointment and not lose your cash deposit. Acceptable ways to cancel or reschedule your appointment are: in person or on the phone ONLY. We will not accept any cancellation/reschedule notice via email or social networking of any kind.
A: any tattoo that can be completed in one visit to the tattoo shop will be given 1 flat price at the time of your consultation by one of our artists or shop manager. Any tattoos that will take multiple sessions, we will quote by number of sessions (close estimate)…. 3 hour sessions range between 250$-400$ depending on artist. Accurate price quotes will only be given in person.
A: This is EASY. TATTOOS = 18+. BODY PIERCING = 15+ ( with parental consent & proper state issued, photo ID for every piercing EXCEPT genital and single point piercings, A.K.A. dermal anchors, which are 18+ ). More questions? Please call the studio. 402-929-4968
1. Wash your tattoo after 1-2 hours with HOT water and soap.
2. Let the HOT water run over your tattoo for 5-10 min.(expanding the skin) DO NOT BURN YOURSELF.
3. Pat Dry.
4. Apply an ice pack to the newly tattooed area for 20 min. (contracting the skin and sealing in the newly colored goodness) Also, DO NOT APPLY ICE PACK DIRECTLY TO YOUR SKIN. IT TOO WILL BURN YOUR SKIN, SMARTGUY. Wrap it in a towel or cloth.
5. Pat Dry.
6. Leave the tattoo alone for 24hrs.
7. Apply skin lotion or Aquaphor as recommended 2-3 times a day. What ever skin lotion you prefer is fine. (perfumed lotion contains alcohol and will sting a bit) 8. Continue using lotion on your tattoo forever and ever.
A: Yup. But you’ll live. We did.
