The Lash LaRue Toy Drive for Pine Ridge Indian Reservation is back! Since 2003, Omaha rockabilly musician Lash LaRue has organized a toy drive for the children of the Porcupine District of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. According to the 2000 census, Pine Ridge’s Lakota Sioux community is one of the most poverty stricken communities in the United States. The children of the reservation are desperately in need of some sunshine and cheer, especially during a time of cold, harsh winds and immense desolation like winters on the reservation can be. The majority of gifts for the children are collected at benefit concerts put on by Omaha-area musicians. This
year we would love to see all the kids walk away with at least two presents and a stocking.

What Liquid Courage will be contributing to Lash’s toy drive are gift certificates for free tattoos. What we require is that you bring in a new, unused toy that has NOT been gift wrapped as a donation and we will give you a raffle ticket. We are raffling off (1) $500 gift certificate and (5) $100 gift certificates. The winners will be announced on 89.7 the River on December 6th which also serves as a radiothon to raise more money. So show some love for the kids and bring in some toys and get your raffle tickets.

*Please note that raffle tickets will be given at Nick’s discretion. It is unfair to other people donating if we were to give 1 raffle ticket for a hot wheel racer. So please make the toys something you think a young child would enjoy!

Hello, old friends! It has been a while since the old website became defunct and we haven’t had the opportunity to inform you of all the new happenings with the shop and a lot has happened. The family is growing as we now have eight artists, soon to be nine. Firstly, from the old website to the new, we have acquired Tobias Caballero and Chad Elsasser as additions to our skilled group of artists. They are more than capable to design anything under the sun for your tattoo.

Along with these two additions, we have been apprenticing J Barnett for the last year and he is beginning his venture behind the needle. J is offering HALF PRICE tattoos in order to gain experience and build his portfolio. Please feel free to come into the shop and speak with him if you are interested. For those of you who have heard the rumor that Dave (DUP) moved to Florida, you are correct, however HE IS BACK at Liquid Courage and is taking appointments as we speak. If you have a project in progress or are just wanting a fresh new tattoo, please stop in and speak with him!

In the realm of piercings, we have a new body piercer, Jonny No Sleeves. Jon will be replacing Jarad who, sadly, will be starting a new life in Texas where he can enjoy a warmer climate and keep that dark Italian complexion. Jon has concluded his apprenticeship under Lee and is fully able to help you with any piercing you may want.

Coming soon, Devin and Jason will be seen on an episode of MTV cribs! Although Jason went along for the ride, Devin tattooed Washington Capitals hockey player Mike Green during the airing of the show. This is also mentioned on Mike Green’s website, www.greenlife52.com. Also, coming soon, we will have new t-shirts in stock. Designed by Johnna and printed on a super soft American Apparel tri-blend, these shirts will definitely let you show your love for Liquid Courage comfortably. We will keep you posted when they hit the shelves, along with any other pertinent information.
